Reporting to the Manager, Technical Education Process Documentation and Testing, this is technical and analytical work involving information technology training needs analysis, course design, presentation and creation of online support documentation. The IT Training Analyst will lead training needs analysis, review technical documentation and related processes and define training needs and objectives to support the implementation of large scale IT systems, programs and ERP system modules. The IT Training Analyst creates training courses, materials and online support documentation for audiences with varying degrees of technical knowledge and computer literacy; designs course content to match the learning needs of user groups; presents training courses and adapts same to meet the learning needs of those in attendance; participates in setting up and testing training system environments, and ensures all required interdependent data and systems exist and are accessible; reviews online support information to determine if existing documentation needs updating; and liaises with users and technical IT systems staff to develop meaningful materials related to system updates and changes. May conduct pilot training sessions with specific training materials or course segments and makes adjustments as required. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include graduation from an Institute of Technology with a diploma (preferably a degree) in computer science plus considerable related experience, including some experience developing and formally presenting technical training materials, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Considerable knowledge and experience in training needs analysis, course and materials design and presentation. Working knowledge of (and preferably certification in) related adult education methods and practices. Experience leading training efforts for large-scale ERP/system implementations and working with stakeholders at multiple levels within an enterprise organization (understanding enterprise business processes) is an asset. Ability to analyze technical systems and ERP module documentation and develop training materials, guides and manuals for staff with varying degrees of technical knowledge and computer literacy; to present technical concepts and related business process procedures to diverse groups of users; to review and update existing systems documentation in relation to new systems and ERP modules; to demonstrate considerable independent judgment and action; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of internal contacts; and to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The successful candidate will use Microsoft Office products and online learning development tools to create and present courses, training materials, and online support documentation. Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
