In this position, the hired candidate will manage tactical aspects of eDiscovery project for the Information Technology Department in the Americas. More specifically, the responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Work on establishing industry standard best practices, processes and workflow for data preservation & collection in-line with Société Générale legal department policy.
- Work with the Legal Department to design, document, and implement industry standard data preservation, collection and disposition best practice, processes and procedures for data sources, both in the U.S. and overseas.
- Serve as resource within the IT Department to manage and execute data preservation & collection efforts from various data types and IT systems of the bank.
- Serve as IT resource on information governance and defensible disposition projects within the bank to dispose of archived data while respecting legal requirements
- Coordinate technical, logistical, and operational aspects of data preservation, collection, Quality Control and delivery for current legal matters, including hands-on work as needed.
- Maintain cartography of various IT systems like electronic communication, voice communication, shared drives etc.
- Provide clear, detailed, and understandable information about data preservation & collection efforts to internal & external counsel and e-discovery vendors as and when required.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with technical issues relating to data management, storage and disposition as it relates to eDiscovery and legal hold obligations;
- Familiarity with best practices in information governance and e-discovery, including the Information Governance Reference Model (IGRM) and eDiscovery Reference Model (EDRM);
- Proficiency in a wide range of technologies and knowledge as to eDiscovery industry best practices, including an understanding of multiple tools and processes associated with large scale complex eDiscovery response.
Desired / Plus:
- Prior experience working with eDiscovery, information governance & defensible disposition projects at a large, highly regulated institution.
- Industry certifications, including ACEDS and/or CIPT.
- Understanding of banking and securities and futures industry regulations and norms.
- Experience with Exterro eDiscovery and legal hold software (and/or other eDiscovery tools such as Symantec Clearwell and Guidance EnCase)
- Experience implementing data privacy obligations, including GDPR.
Qualifications (Experience, Education, Languages):
- 2+ years of experience providing eDiscovery-related IT services within a large, complex institution.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree from a well-regarded 4-year college/university
Desired / Plus:
- Familiarity/fluency with French
- Prior employment with a financial institution.
