Overview of role:

The JDE Specialist is a lead technical role for our ERP platform (JDE EnterpriseOne) that provides expert-level support, troubleshooting and enhancements for Finance modules, including General Ledger and Fixed Asset. The JDE Specialist works closely with the WestJet Finance team to optimize processes to enable transactional, reporting and compliance objectives.

Being the leader within a DevOps pod, the JDE Specialist will develop, implement, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents within the ERP technology stack, including key integrations with other Finance systems (such as Oracle EPM, Revenue Accounting etc.). Playing a key role in analysis, requirement gathering, configuration, testing, incidents management, service requests and release management for the product stack. The JDE Specialist will lead the technical aspects within the scrum practice and will participate in developing requirements and propose solutions that meet business needs.

Key deliverables include:

• Process Optimization: Analyzes and understand WestJet’s end-to-end Accounting, and Financial Reporting processes to identify opportunities for improvement using the JDE Enterprise One, and related technologies. Implement best practices, streamline workflows, and automate manual tasks to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Configuration: Leads the configuration and customization of the platforms to automate and enhance processes. Plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with accounting policies and standards.
• Integration: Collaborates with stakeholders to integrate JDE EnterpriseOne with various platforms and external systems, including Budget and Planning, Revenue Accounting, Consolidation and Close Management, and other related systems.
• Testing: Develops, plans, and executes system testing, including unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure completeness, accuracy, and system stability.
• Support: Resolve complex issues, investigate errors, and improve module performance and functionality. Leads in change, incident, problem management tasks within product team and documentation of steps taken to fix or improve work items.
• Leadership: Provides technical leadership, coach, and mentor the wider team. Leads workshops, presentations, and training that provide skill and knowledge development for key stakeholders.

Experience and qualifications:

• Master’s Degree and 5+years of experience, or bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of proven JDE experience, and 5 years specifically in the Finance modules.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Requires expert problem-solving skills and advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
• A recognized accounting designation and/or certification in JDE Finance modules is an asset.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn related technologies, such as Orchestration, ReportsNow, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), test automation software, Power BI, etc.
