Who We Are:
The South Okanagan Similkameen Division of Family Practice Society (SOS Division), an
organization that supports local family physicians with a mission to improve comprehensive
primary patient care, is growing and we are looking for a Junior Accountant to provide
bookkeeping and accounting support to the Finance Team. You will be a part of a collaborative

contract.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing documents and financial reports, including cash flows, budgets, risks and
opportunities
- Maintaining accurate and current financial statements and related schedules; analyzing
variances
- Processing, monitoring and managing accounts payable, receivable, expenses, payroll,
reconciliations, accruals and amortizations
- Ensuring accurate, consistent and complete financial information and timely regulatory
remittances based on the appropriate application of accounting principles and practices
- Responding to financial inquiries from Division staff as needed
- Coordinating and handling audits (tax and assurance) and preparing year-end files
- Analyzing, recommending and documenting accounting process improvements
Requirements:
- Degree in accounting, finance or business
- CPA Designation is ideal but not required
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience including budgeting, accounting, and financial
reporting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and systems (preferably Sage) and audit
trails; stays abreast of relevant regulations
- Knowledge of payroll practices and processes
