Job description: Position Summary
“Anatomic Pathology subject matter expert” Anatomic Pathology is only used by 3 of our facilities so is a specialty position.
The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Administrator possesses an in-depth knowledge of laboratory processes, workflows and practices in order to maximize the use of clinical information systems. The role is a champion for electronic medical records / health records. They collaborate with laboratory staff and others in the evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, changes and training of LIS. They also provide LIS regional support for incidents and problems, and ensure effective operations of the system, and participate as key members of LIS related projects.
Qualifications
– Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program (General)
– Certified and registered as a CSMLS with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science
– Four (4) years recent experience comprised of:
o Two (2) years recent related experience in a Laboratory department;
o Two (2) years recent related experience developing, implementing, maintaining and/or supporting clinical Laboratory Information Systems (LIS);
– Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

– Ability to organize and prioritize work.
– Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software and working knowledge of operating systems and clinical systems.
– Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
– Ability and willingness to travel regionally and provincially.
