Job Description
The Opportunity:
Mattel is looking for a Lead Oracle IT Business Analyst with a techno-functional skill set to join the Global Technology Organization (GTO) Corporate Systems Applications group that supports Finance, Legal and Human Resource functions. Oracle eBusiness Suite is one of the main global applications supported by this group and we need a resource with both functional and technical expertise supporting an Oracle R12, on premise environment.
Reporting into a Sr. Manager, GTO, the Lead Oracle IT Business Analyst is a critical role that partners with business teams and business leadership as well as IT teams and IT leadership to support and help transform finance.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Project management, business analysis, requirements gathering, Oracle functional setup and configuration, liaison between business/functional teams and development team, testing facilitation, and deployment of Oracle enhancements and projects.
- Combines business knowledge and an understanding of the inner-workings and configuration options of Oracle EBS Financial modules (i.e. GL, AR, AP, iExpense, FA, PA, CE and E-Business Tax, version 12.1.3 and on prem).
- Bring expertise, knowledge and experience to the Corporate Applications team as a senior system expert with leadership and drive, interfacing with IT peers and business users.
- Work with internal customers, external consultants and vendors to support project and operational tasks, as they relate to the Oracle EBS environment.
- Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions to enable the organization to achieve its goals. These business problems and recommended solutions will be documented and supported through:
- Business process definition
- Developing current state/to be process flows
- Requirement solicitation, gathering, and documentation
- Facilitation of testing, including Unit, System Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance and documentation of results
- Interact with Mattel application leads, and 3rd party application leads to understand and analyze technical requirements and contribute to the creation of technical design documents.
- Lead design discussion sessions with IT and business resources and be able to communicate how core application functionality works and impact caused by requested design changes.
- Provide technical effort estimates based on BRD/functional design documents and review with management/team leads.
- Conduct and participate in code review sessions for team deliverables as needed.
- Guide team members involved in development and unit testing.
- Provide written and verbal statuses to manager/project manager level resources on a scheduled or ad-hoc basis.
- Help the team to troubleshoot critical issues in development, staging or prod environments.
- Support go-live preparation, and production rollout activities.
- Support business driven projects that integrate with both in-house systems and cloud-based SaaS solutions.
- Manage and perform Oracle functional configuration in a 12.1.3 EBS version to support enhancements and projects.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Requires 10+ years of Oracle EBS financials experience as a production support or project resource with emphasis on techno-functional analytics and in-depth configuration experience, with 5+ years overall related experience in a lead role.
- Have a deep functional and technical understanding of the Oracle EBS Financials from a global perspective – multiple OUs, Global and Local COA’s, Ledgers, etc. – for on prem version 12.1.3.
- Participation in at least 2 full life-cycle Oracle EBS rollouts for global organizations.
- Proven ability to gather technical effort estimates based on BRD/functional design documents and communicating the rationale behind those with business/IT leads.
- Experience with Oracle localizations and globalizations.
- Experienced in defining and documenting technical and functional requirements and business solution design using MD50, BR10/30, & BR100’s, as well as leading users through the testing cycles.
- Ability to lead design discussions with IT and business teams and communicate current application functionality and impact of design changes.
- Interprets and transforms information based on business requirements and provides the data for delivery team.
- Proactively seek opportunities for simplification, application rationalization, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent critical thinking skills to help address and resolve business issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of users and IT/Business leadership.
- Plan and organize tasks, report progress, and manage and coordinate with project consultants and Mattel resources.
- Ability to work with existing support teams to manage issues and develop enhancement opportunities.
- Ability to work with multiple departments to document and validate current state business processes.
- Understand and modify the application configuration as required (includes system setups, flex-fields, workflow builder, custom library, profile options, etc.).
- Experience with SOX system implementations, and interacting with internal audit to satisfy their requirements.
- Demonstrated experience supporting SaaS solutions and related integrations with Oracle and related applications.
