The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of a health care team, collaborating on the delivery of care to meet the needs of patients/clients. The Licensed Practical Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care of patients/clients and work in consultation with RN/RPN colleagues and others to meet the needs of more complex patients/clients. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible and accountable to the public for his/her practice, according to the Standards defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) Standards of Practice.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, within scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills, and strong decision making ability. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience is an asset.
