Wainwright Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for an LPN in their Long Term Care Department! This environment is suitable for you if you have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly residents, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer disease or other dementia. In this role, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical leadership, direction, supervision, mentoring to other unregulated staff, and you will play a key role in the support of an integrated holistic approach to the patient’s health care, health promotion and health maintenance requirements. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of quality care following policies and guidelines of Alberta Health Services. You will also demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our patients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct resident and family centered care. Wainwright is a vibrant and friendly community of around 7,000 located in east central Alberta on highway 14 and 41. Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic.
