This position offers an opportunity to work within a new state of the art healthcare facility in High Prairie, Alberta. Opened in 2017, the facility has 30 acute care beds, obstetrics and surgical programs, emergency and outpatient departments, lab, DI, pharmacy and co-located Primary Care, Public Health, Indigenous Health, Addiction and Mental Health and Allied Health Services. JB Wood Continuing Care Centre attached to health complex has 67 beds. The opportunity exists for the right candidate to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and staff. High Prairie, in northern Alberta’s Big Lakes County is known as the “Gateway to the Mighty Peace Country”. Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

As Required. Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: ACLS, NRP, and CTAS. Preference will be given to applicants with recent obstetrical and emergency experience. Ability/desire to work to full scope.
