Job description: Your Opportunity:
If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who loves small town living and working with the elderly, then this position might be just what you’re looking for! Wainwright is a vibrant and friendly community of around 7,000 located in east central Alberta on highway 14 and 41. Wainwright is a major service centre for the agriculture and oil and gas industries and is home to Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, which trains our National Defense personnel. The quality lifestyle in this community is enhanced by an excellent choice of schools for children, extensive health care facilities and an unlimited array of year-round recreational opportunities. Wainwright Continuing Care is located in a rural setting where the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works within an interdisciplinary team environment, collaborating on the delivery of care to meet the needs of the patient/clients. The LPN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care of patients/clients and work in consultation with RN/RPN colleagues and others to meet the needs of more complex patients/clients. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the public for his/her practice, according to the Standards defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) Standards of Practice. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.
