Why we need you:
You will be installing and configuring Linux servers along with supporting and optimizing servers, run applications and services. Alongside this, you’ll be monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks. With this in mind, extensive experience in Unix administration experience in an enterprise environment is important as is a degree in computer science or engineering along with extensive experience with support and deployment of Java based applications (Tomcat). We are devoted to modern IT transformations in the direction of new technology implementation and automations.
Who are we looking for:
Constantly to help set-up systems or resolve issues so you’ll need proven knowledge of SMTP protocols, mail routing, TCP/IP, routing, networking and balancing along with an understanding of TLS, HTTPS and SSH.
You will be troubleshooting system, Linux configurations and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware or software faults along with supporting roll-out of new applications and hardware so comprehensive experience building Web clusters (Apache, NginX) is needed.
Implementation of new automations will be a definite necessity in the routine as well as introducing the solutions for DevOps systems. This will include but not limited to: SALT Stack Formulas, Ansible, and other scripting.
Day to day you’ll be analysing, designing and developing modifications and changes to existing systems to improve performance so you’ll need advanced scripting skills: Perl, Python, Bash, Go as well as experience with deployment automation tools (Salt, Chef, Jenkins).
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Previous experience designing tools & reports for business users and operations, Java/Tomcat Application Servers, Postfix, Salt and YAML or deployment automation will be an added benefit to enable you to provide support to the team.
- A certification (Security+ or CCNA) is an asset as is working experience with NetBackup and Git, virtualization systems.
