PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the General Manager, generates profitable sales of the store through target marketing, competitive analysis, and providing value-added agronomic products or services, energy products, retail sales and recommendations. Oversees the operations of the retail outlet location including scheduling, logistics, product handling and pricing. Ensures the availability of merchandize and services by maintaining inventory. Achieves financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiates corrective action.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Maintains store staff by recruiting, orienteering, and training.

Coaches, counselling, disciplining employees, monitoring, and performance appraisals.

Demonstrated supervisory experience including hiring, orientation, coaching, counseling, performance evaluations, and training and development, etc. and the ability to get work done through others.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Develops and implements marketing plans and sales strategies that generate profitable sales for the Algoma Ag Center located in Echo Bay Ontario.

Provides value-added agronomic products or services, energy products (bulk fuel delivery, home heat) and recommendations to customers.

Provides customer service by using soil testing, crop scouting and other programs, follows up on customer complaints, and seeks a reasonable “win/win” resolution.

Responsible for product ordering, profitable pricing, inventory control, and shipping/receiving of product. Scheduling of product delivery.

Responsible for the maintenance and appearance of equipment and facilities.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a college degree in agriculture, marketing, or other business-related discipline and sales/marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.

Understanding of all agronomic product lines along with sales ability/persuasiveness, face-to-face selling skills, assertiveness, tenacity/persistence, resilience, competitive adeptness, inventory development and management, credit worthiness, and product proficiency.

Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and, in a team oriented environment.

Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.

Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.

Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and can travel independently for meeting or deliveries.
