Job description: Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is adding a Logistics Analyst to their rapidly expanding team.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Analyst will maintain and create new relationships with suppliers and negotiate prices and cost-saving measures. In addition, the Logistics Analyst will be responsible for the entry of data, report generation and analysis of the data for handling the logistical coordination of the Company’s warehouses and customer locations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Connect with carriers, vendors and stores for ongoing operational issues, changes, and future needs and recommend and develop solutions that align with corporate objectives.
• Work with vendors and distribution partners to obtain freight quotes.
• Identify and quantify freight rate savings and areas for improvement based on analysis.
• Develop and maintain relevant reports and applications such as carrier scorecards and Freight Cost of Goods reports.
• Update project scorecards with carrier shipping and delivery actuals.
• Investigated failed/lost shipments and document preventative measurements.
• Monitor daily logistics email inbox and forward urgent issues to Logistics Manager.
• Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, and cost/benefit analysis.
• Continuously identify opportunities and implement process, accuracy and/or relevance improvement initiatives through project-based tasks with Logistics Manager.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

• Undergraduate Degree or College Diploma in Transportation/Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in Transportation and/or Logistics.
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in MS Office Excel (Access, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience in costing of freight, specifically Less Than Truckload (LTL).
• Experience with cross border shipments is an asset.
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal/written) with various stakeholders by phone or email (carriers, customers, internal staff).
• Available for rotating weekend point of contact (re-produce customs documentation etc.,)
