Job description: Reports to the Transportation Manager and works closely with both the Customer Service and Warehouse teams.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide administrative services within the transportation department;
· Monitor inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery
· Continuous communication with transportation providers to assess shipment status
· Proactively assess potential service delays and escalate issues when needed
· Take ownership of shipment issues and provide resolution and implement corrective action
· Maintain customer files as it relates to carrier lead times and special delivery instructions
· Spreadsheet/database management and tracking;
· Be the subject matter expert as it relates to shipment activities and systems
Qualifications
· Some College or University education course work;
· At least two years of experience in a similar role;
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
· Strong ability to multi-task;
· Must be detailed-oriented and organized;
· Ability to work under pressure;
· Proficiency in MS Word;
· Strong proficiency in MS Excel; Database experience preferred;
· Logistics and transportation background preferred
