The Logistics and Distribution Lead will be responsible for leading the Canadian crop protection and seeds logistics & distribution operational activities in order to meet business goals and operational/financial KPI’s. In this role, you will work in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that business plans are supported at the agreed service expectations. You will oversee the end to end movement of product from sourcing and storage to customer delivery and reverse logistics.

This position can be based within our Guelph, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta offices or remotely across Canada.

Accountabilities

Responsible for distribution of Crop Protection and Seeds materials from all internal and outsourced sites to include outbound, interplant, and return shipments using various shipping modes.

Manage operational relationship and interface with Syngenta’s 3rd & 4th party logistics partners; including but not limited to annual review & contract agreements, identification & resolution of system issues, operational improvements and KPI metric performance

Monitor product supply on a regular basis per sales forecast and initiate necessary movements to avoid stock outs with Customer Service consultation

Develop a product deployment plan for domestic finished SKU’s from manufacturing sites based on production schedules and system demand plans

Ensure operational compliance in all related activities (transactional/documentation

Generate monthly accrual reports for logistics and distribution activities

Lead annual physical inventory counts and HSE audits including mediation of audit findings and improvements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Agriculture, or related field

4+ years of experience working within an agricultural or CPG business in distribution and/or planning

3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP or similar corporate ERP system

Strong Microsoft Office experience (Excel VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables experience with Power BI would be beneficial

Knowledge of logistics, distribution, and inventory management principles

Must be authorized to work in Canada for Syngenta without Employment Sponsorship

General knowledge of, and passion for Canadian Agriculture, including understanding of crops that are grown and knowledge of logistics, planning, and production principles is strongly desired

Knowledge of TDG (transportation of dangerous goods) guidelines and CPI (Consumer Price Index) would be an asset.
