Job description: RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collection of soiled linen from linen chute rooms and designated areas within the hospital.
• Marshalling and transportation of clean linen carts and soiled linen blue tubs from the staging areas in the hospital to/from the loading docks.
• Operate the laundry machines, cart tugger, ScrubEx Dispensing and ScrubEx Receiver machines.
• Operates the IPA ScrubEx inventory management system (web-based).
• Transportation and management of linen supplies in the linen room.
• Provides exceptional customer service and demonstrates a professional manner in the work setting.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of a secondary school diploma required.
• Successful completion of a post-secondary community college program in a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated oral, written and English language reading skills required in order to effectively communicate and/or respond to customer inquiries
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) are required.
• Well developed organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to prioritize tasks appropriately within the department and other Logistics departments.
• Proven commitment to Mission and Values of the organization, as well as successful completion of the 7 mandatory employee modules.
• Demonstrated excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
• Excellent customer service skills with proven success in working in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to work for 2 hours and push or pull a cart weighing 50-100 kg
• Ability to work with gloves and other appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 4 hours)

HOURS:

• Must be able to work rotational days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shifts are subject to change based on departmental needs.
