What will you do as a Logistics Coordinator?
Reporting to the Logistics & Materials Manager, the Logistics Coordinator would play an important role in providing support for LMI global shipment movement which include coordinating inbound and outbound freight, preparing shipping documents, tracking shipments, coordinating customs brokerage and etc. The successful candidate will be working with internal and external teams closely in order to achieve on time delivery, resolve problems and meet expectations from our customers. The ideal candidate would be detailed oriented, organized and efficient.
Typical duties, responsibilities and activities include:
- Work with freight forwarders to arrange outbound shipments for LMI global offices as well as prepare shipping documents and other required paperwork.
- Work with buyers to arrange inbound shipments from vendors.
- Work with customs broker and supply related documents for customs clearance.
- Arrange shipments between LMI Canada and its 3PL warehouse. Include updating daily ASN (Advanced Shipment Notice) and fulfill external sales orders in the ERP system.
- Create ASN by using the customer’s portal (for certain customers) for outbound shipments.
- Coordinate for RMA shipments.
- Track & expedite (when needed) shipments to ensure on time delivery.
- Working closely with other logistics service providers to assure efficient and effective execution of service requirements.
- Back up for other team members if needed.
- Proactively contributes to and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adheres to LMI Employee Policy Manual.
What do you need to be successful?
- Relevant post secondary Technical or Business diploma or related experience.
- Minimum 1 year working in an import/export coordinator role with international shipping experience.
- Organized and attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Experience with ERP systems will be an asset.
- Being able to read and write Mandarin will be an asset.
