The Opportunity:

As a Carrier Procurement Executive, you are one of the key members of the team. You are a specialist and you understand all elements of transportation. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of freight using third party carriers on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be connected to the daily spot market and build upon their carrier network for quick coverage of both adhoc and contracted freight requests at positive margins whilst providing exceptional customer service.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Communicate with multiple Carriers daily to ensure successful coverage of freight in your assigned geographic region
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor until completion all truckload, less than truckload freight using partner carrier equipment
  • Effectively negotiate truckload and less than truckload rates with customers and third-party carriers to achieve a profitable margin
  • Communicate dispatch information with Customer Service team members and assist with customer/carrier inquiries
  • Works closely with Network Design team to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships
  • Ensure all freight within your assigned geographic region is solutioned and in motion
  • Continually look for opportunities to learn, always challenging the status quo
  • Follow all company policies, ethics and company procedures

  • 2 years Logistics Brokerage and/or Planning experience
  • Experience in Customer Service
  • Industry Expertise- Transportation industry knowledge including, effective partner carriers, rates, the domestic and international market, terminology and, general knowledge of primary customer industries
  • A competitive desire to win
  • The ability to operate with a sense of urgency in a highly time-sensitive environment
  • Great negotiation skills – your specialty is closing the deal
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated accountability in your decision making
  • Effective communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
  • Good analytical, mathematical and problem-solving techniques
  • Working knowledge of Link Logistics, Excel and Transport Management Software
