Manager Finance
THE ROLE:
This Finance Manager role is a high-visibility position within AMD’s Finance organization located in Markham, ON. This role is critical to the success of the business and reports directly to the Director, Finance. Key responsibilities include partnering with Radeon Technology Group “RTG” Engineering teams to ensure performance obligations and capital strategies are operationally supported and strategically focused to secure the greatest return on investment. The ideal candidate should have a bias for action, high sense of teamwork, and ability to speak up and make recommendations in a fast-moving environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Business partner to RTG Engineering
- Provided Weekly & Monthly Financial update to the RTG key leadership team regarding current quarter’s progress to budget on Operating Expenses, Capital & Headcount execution.
- Identify and implement improvements to business processes
- Preparation of Operating business plans and forecast (s) for Operating & Capital Expenses with variance analysis
- Month-end, Year End and Accounting & Reporting close activities requirements
- Assume full ownership on Ad Hoc project, reports and analyses as required
SKILLS & COMPLETENCIES:
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated financial leadership effectively supporting Engineering and/or Business leaders in a high-growth environment
- Capable of strategic thinking with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with, influence and communicate effectively with core team peers and business functional area stakeholders
- Ability to work in a complex team environment as well as independently
- Ability to lead people through a process and be able to take charge as appropriate
- Self-starter with a positive attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong financial modeling skill is desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point is preferred
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent
- MBA or CPA preferred
