Business Overview:
This role is an integral part of the Business Unit Support team within the Finance department of Fidelity Canada. The Finance department provides various services across the organization including executive and business unit finance support, business analytics, financial planning and analysis, corporate accounting and taxation. The main focus of the Business Unit Support team is to support the various business units across the organization towards achieving their objectives by identifying issues, recommending solutions, providing financial transparency and value-added financial assessments. This is achieved by establishing strong relationships with these client groups while meeting the needs and interests of all stakeholders.
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance Business Support, the successful candidate is an articulate and analytical financial professional who will utilize their technical and relationship building skills to provide support to our Advisor-Sold Distribution business, while managing the needs and interests of many stakeholders including senior management. As an integral member of the Finance Business Unit Support function, you will be responsible for managing a team of financial analysts while working with the business unit leaders to complete financial business cases, strategic initiative reports, business planning and analysis, & sales performance reporting and measurement. Your team will be relied on as resident experts and primary financial resource on all matters relating to financial and analytical support of the firm’s Distribution business. This includes actively presenting your team’s findings and analysis to the business unit leaders and senior management.
What You Will Do
Manage a high performing team of financial analysts towards providing analytical support to internal clients in the advisor-sold distribution business.
Provide proactive support for sales initiatives from a financial perspective, including the completion of complex analysis and financial cases for new business development opportunities, territory sales planning, and client segmentation and coverage models.
Lead various value enhancing initiatives including analysis and presentation of the firm’s sales performance by developing appropriate market share metrics/drivers, industry forecasting and analysis.
Lead the annual sales and business planning process while also providing overall financial stewardship, expense management and support for other ad hoc projects.
Develop appropriate key performance indicators / success measures for sales effectiveness initiatives and develop post implementation assessments against the relevant measures.
Participate as a key member of the firm’s annual sales compensation planning committee
Design new reports and analytics to address needs of the business and proactively anticipate future requirements, including management reports.
Develop a strong relationship with senior management team and become integral to their decision-making process.
Ensure analysis prepared by the team and provided to senior management is actionable and helps drive business decisions. This analysis must be timely, carefully balancing the need for additional detail and the timely delivery of the information
Proactively seek out opportunities to drive the business forward.
What We’re Looking For
University degree, with concentration in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
Completion of, or working toward, a financial/accounting designation (CPA, CFA, MBA)
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial management
Minimum 2 years of experience in managing a team of up to 3 people
Demonstrated leadership and management skills
Experience in mutual fund or financial services industry an asset

You have proven capabilities to lead a team and encourage and support staff development
You demonstrate an ability to invoke change and challenge the status quo
Given the current circumstances, the resource will be working from home, 100% of time. As working conditions return to normal, they will be expected to be onsite.
