The Financial Close Center of Excellence is seeking a highly motivated Revenue Accounting Manager to be a part of the Controller organization’s transformative journey towards becoming trusted and valued business partners delivering Financial Results in an entirely new way through best in class people, processes and innovation

  • Job Duties/Accountabilities:
  • Supporting the transformation of the financial results close function through centralization and optimization
  • Support and lead the financial results close process to ensure accurate, complete and timely results through:
  • Preparation of journal entries (JESS) in SAP P50
  • Completion of various interface reconciliations.
  • Preparation, review and/or approval of month end transactional processes including approving of JESS journal entries in SAP p50.
  • Partnership with various business unit stakeholders to understand the business processes generating accounting transactions.
  • Adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Performing validation and reconciliation of General Ledger inputs and balances.
  • Support various internal and external reporting
  • Lead and support various special projects
  • Identify areas of potential improvements in existing processes and/or assist in the implementation of changes that lead to increased efficiency and improved effectiveness of processes.
  • Identify gaps in information systems, data systems, and financial reporting tools and partner with appropriate teams to resolve. Supporting internal and external customers (Amdocs and CGI) by providing information and explanations to aid in understanding and interpreting transactional process, data and reporting. Investigating anomalies and resolving issues on a timely basis.
  • Identify and leverage technology opportunities to recommend and implement process improvement initiatives, identifying areas of overlap and potential efficiency gains.
  • Lead teams through day to day functional close accountabilities as well as unique team transformational responsibilities. Managing a team of clerical associates.
  • Approving of journal entries, managing Revenue Accounting inbox in JESS workflow.
  • Prime in managing external/internal audits on revenue transactions and controls. Validate, consolidate and prepare SoX audit evidence reports.
  • Managing Gatekeeper roles for SAP access control, managing and execution of Rev Calc rules in SAP P50, and preform other month end close procedures to ensure that month end timelines are met.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation on processes and procedures to ensure continuity of operations.

Critical qualifications / competencies:

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in either accounting/finance, business/commerce and/or previous financial reporting experience
  • CPA or related finance experience considered an asset

Experience:

  • 2-3 years in similar finance and / or accounting role

Technical skills:

  • Strong proficiency in MS applications including Excel, Access, Word
  • Working knowledge of BI and SAP, FI module, JESS system process
  • Knowledge of Bell billing systems would be an asset.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

  • Proven ability to work in a team, provide constructive coaching, and foster a positive and rewarding work environment for direct reports, including virtual teams

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
