We currently have a Regular Full-Time opportunity for a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis in the Finance Department at our Bayview Campus.
Hours of Work:
Weekdays: Days; 8 hrs; As per schedule
(Periodically additional evening/weekend hours may be required to meet tight deadlines)
Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for being objective and strategic financial partners and for leading collaborative cross-functional efforts to drive timely, relevant, flexible, and efficient financial planning and analysis that supports our key business objectives and decisions.
Summary of Duties
- Manage and coach a team of financial analysts including providing oversight, direction and mentoring to facilitate decision-making around strategic business initiatives, including addressing any conflicts arising from competing priorities
- Lead comprehensive annual and multi-year budgeting, forecasting and long term strategic planning processes including reviewing performance and financial data, assessing assumptions and identifying and communicating operational / financial risks / opportunities
- Lead the timely and in-depth financial, variance, and trending analyses; leverage storytelling and technology to interpret results and articulate recommendations to Management / Board / other government and funding bodies
- Lead and oversee Hospital Annual Planning Submission and Quarterly reporting to the MOHLTC
- Provide financial expertise for the development and analysis of business cases, financial models, forecasts and other presentations to Director of FP&A, CFO and Senior Leadership Team
- Actively participate / lead various corporate and system improvement initiatives, exploring new tools and best practices in order to drive results (e.g. Bundled Care Model, BI strategy, etc.)
- Work with the Director of FP&A and collaborate with hospital stakeholders in developing a robust financial information reporting strategy, including implementation of streamlined processes to improve timeliness / accuracy of reporting.
- Continually seek out process improvements and creative problem solving in driving solutions, innovation and other initiatives
- Work closely with cross-functional teams both within Finance and Operations to foster an environment of collaboration and open communication
Qualifications/Skills
- Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) required.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, including managing professional staff and leading a development of short and long- term operating plan
- Extensive experience in building financial models and business cases, with a good understanding of health care environment
- Display initiative and leadership when handling multiple job responsibilities, setting priorities, problem solving, meeting deadlines, and driving process improvement
- Exceptional planning, organizational and interpersonal capabilities with sound professional judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong customer centric approach
- Strong interpersonal skills to build solid working relationship with the stakeholders in the organization
- Experience with coaching, mentoring and motivating staff using both persuasion and influence
- Experience at a managerial level is a must and in a health
