goeasy is looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to manage the overall IT vendor management office (VMO) function. Reporting into VP of Operations, you will be responsible for maintaining strong working relationships with IT and Legal departments, as well as communicating the VMO value proposition to various partners. You will oversee the management of vendor relationships and the integration of key partners, internally and externally, to ensure strong and strategic partnerships, cost savings and enhanced services for the complex needs of the goeasy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sets the strategic direction for the IT VMO function.
- Establish policies that reduce risk by determining selection processes and criteria, including terms, conditions and negotiations of contracts for all Information Technology purchasing and supplier relationships.
- Chairs VMO Governance Committee and manages meeting agendas and schedule.
- Provide leadership around Enterprise procurement guidelines and standards while enabling the implementation of innovation practice.
- Drive and sustain market intelligence on vendors, capabilities and offerings.
- Ensure highest levels of control are in place for managing partners, including but not limited to compliance, operational and service level audits. Define and maintain metrics to measure vendor performance.
- Ensure financial and contractual rigour to contract negotiation and creation through experience and leveraging goeasy Finance, Legal teams.
- Ensures the development and maintenance of proper record keeping and documentation. Such as, records of purchase items, costs, deliveries and inventories.
- Establishes strategic initiatives to drive vendor contract consolidation, cost reduction initiatives and opportunities to bring value to IT through partnering relationships with vendors.
- Oversee the interaction with various IT functions to ensure the vendor service delivery organizations are effectively meeting the needs of the business units.
- Identify, develop and promote strategic IT infrastructure, applications or service delivery opportunities through coordination of and interaction with IT Senior Leadership and business functions and leverage the vendor’s contracts to implement solutions.
- Establish and manage a controlled environment that ensures effective and efficient processes.
- Develop and manage a VMO continuous improvement program based on defined operating metrics.
- Ensures suppliers meet defined requirements, goals and targets.
- Establishes supplier improvement targets in cost, quality, delivery and inventory reduction. Leads all aspects of supplier negotiations, including contract terms, pricing, price re-determinations and performance management.
- Provides leadership in developing key, long-term supply contracts to achieve continuous improvement.
- Oversees the management of IT contracts to ensure cost, service and quality requirements are met.
- Keeps abreast of market trends, changes in business practices and new or altered types of materials and services entering the market.
- Analyzes key trends in global supply and industry analysis.
- Recommends modifications to accommodate regulatory, legislative or industry changes.
Qualifications, Attributes & Competencies:
- Post-secondary education in Contract Administration, Business Administration, Commerce or Financial Management, or an equivalent program.
- 5 – 8 years of experience in vendor management and project management in an Information Technology Procurement function.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to build and manage multi-disciplinary teams supported by strong knowledge of team management standards and methodologies.
- Adept in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and competitive price analysis.
- Deep interpersonal and communication skills to foster partnerships, consensus and effective relationships with internal staff, clients and external vendor/suppliers.
- Well-developed negotiation and conflict management skills, with the ability to ensure vendors adhere to contract terms, operations service support and service delivery.
- Experience establishing and maintaining reporting performance standards and processes including supplier performance scorecards.
- Knowledge of current technologies and services such as Software-as-a-Service (SAAS), Cloud and Outsourcing.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, and the foresight to anticipate opportunities/problems and present effective solutions.
