Position: Materials Manager

Location: Brantford, ON

Salary: $95,000 -$100,000 Yearly

Industry: Manufacturing / Automotive/ Production Control

Employment Term: Full Time / Permanent

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies for effective inventory control
• Manage annual budget and ensure cost-effectiveness
• Maintain optimal stock levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess inventory
• Collaborate with suppliers to secure timely and cost-effective materials
• Negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability
• Implement and maintain production control systems to optimize efficiency
• Conduct regular audits to assess the outcome of the systems
• Monitor and analyze KPIs such as inventory turns, fill rates etc. as well as maintain 5S
• Provide regular reports and insights for continuous improvement
• Address supply chain disruptions promptly, finding alternative solutions to meet production schedules
• Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting the materials management process
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree or Post Secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Materials Manager/ Production Control Supervisor preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Previous experience as a Systems/Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment is a definite asset
• Strong knowledge and experience with ISO quality systems and ERP
• APICS certification is considered an asset
• Licensed in operating forklift preferred
• Excellent computer and presentation skills
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
