As a M&E Coordinator (Building Systems Coordinator) for our Atlantic Canada Office in Halifax, NS, you will contribute to our team by:
- Assisting the project team with coordination of building systems trades for compliance to drawings, specifications, quality, and schedule.
- Preparing and supervising building systems submittal logs for shop drawings and coordination documents and reporting progress to the project team.
- Assisting with coordination drawing process.
- Reviewing RFIs and supervising RFI responses for timeliness.
- Reading and understanding the building systems trade contractor quality-management programs.
- Witnessing on-site field testing and records results.
- Assisting project team with building systems commissioning document results.
- Assisting the project team with all facets of project closeout, operation and maintenance manuals, spare part inventory, and deficiencies.
- Assisting the project team with occupancy and/or permit closeout.
- Attending management and architect meetings related to building systems.
- Adhering to and supporting internal safety programs.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Tradesperson or postsecondary diploma/degree in a related field (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls).
- 1-2 years of experience in a mechanical or electrical construction related position.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering systems, principles and practices.
- Solid understanding of specifications and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of temporary service requirements for projects.
- Understanding of trade scopes and ability to assist with coordination of building systems trade activity on the project.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Understanding of decision-making authority and ability to present solutions.
- Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks within required time frame, and delegate tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
