Position Summary
This Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) in MRI/ X-ray will be responsible for providing excellent patient care and the production of high quality Imaging using their technical expertise. The MRT will work effectively and efficiently while complying with departmental guidelines. The MRT acts as a role model for both professional standards of practice and organizational core competencies. Duties are conducted in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists and the Regulated Health Professions Act. This MRT reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging through the MRI and X-ray Charge Technologist.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program required
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging certification required
- Working knowledge of the Standards of Practice of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists and the Regulated Health Professions Act.
- Member in good standing with the CMRTO
- Member in good standing with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
(CAMRT) preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Radiology preferred
- Demonstrated ability to function independently.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance Programs.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multi task efficiently and effectively.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe handling and use of all equipment.
- Satisfactory work performance and attendance record required.
- The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital. Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communication skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum.
