Job description: Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, this Mental Health Aide – Street Connect temp position will provide support to homeless clients with severe mental health and addiction concerns, according to the client’s individual service plan and / or treatment plan. Service will be provided in a variety of community settings in accordance with client-centered approach, to decrease barriers to service by providing support and assistance to promote social, physical and emotional well-being and foster self-determination and independence.
Description:
As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12. Completion of Health Care Aide or Mental Health Aide Certificate or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience working with severe mental health and addiction concerns. Reliable vehicle. Must be able to walk longer distances outside on uneven terrain, carry items and navigate stairs. Preferred Qualifications:
Connect Care Ambulatory Therapy Assistant training.
