Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a Relief Part Time Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Substance Use Clinician based at the Castlegar Health Centre. This position is for the Addictions Day Treatment program primarily to run groups.
Within a client and family-centered care model, the Substance Use Clinician functions as a member of the larger Community Integrated Health Services (CIHS) health care team and as a member of a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team. The Substance Use Clinician’s purpose is to ensure that persons experiencing substance use problems/ disorders or concurrent substance use and mental health problems have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services. The Substance Use Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, service coordination and, as required, urgent response to the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders, who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Substance Use Clinician functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.
This position requires a high level of clinical knowledge and skill in addiction work as it entails facilitating mobile Addiction Day Treatment Groups, addiction knowledge exchange (CAP), supervision and consultation for complex addiction cases, and oversight of other regional addiction programs (i.e. accommodation fee subsidy, level 5 residential treatment referral, and support recovery programs).
Hour of work are Tuesday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:12 until the return of the incumbent.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
*Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.
*Two years’ recent related experience in an alcohol and drug treatment environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
*Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
