The Mine Technician reports to the Mine Engineer.

What you will do:

• Perform underground and surface surveying to support the mine operation
• Use a total station to generate control points for mining advancement
• Layout beltlines and fixed infrastructure underground
• Level surveys
• LiDAR scans
• Updating and creating CAD drawing and assisting Mine Engineers with mine designs
• Maintain safe working conditions
• Monitor mine gases with ventilation equipment and performing ventilation surveys as requested

Maintain gas detection equipment

Perform QA/ QC testing on ground support as requested * Install and gather data from underground rock mechanics instrumentation

• Assist the Mine Engineering Department as needed

What you will bring:

• Minimum of a 2-year diploma in Mine Engineering Technology or equivalent (Civil Engineering Technician or Geomatics Engineering Technician)
• Microsoft office skills
• Microstation or equivalent drafting and mine planning software
• Proficient use of survey equipment
• Understanding of ventilation, rock mechanics, and ground control for Potash mining would be an asset
• Mining experience would be an asset
• Ability to work underground safely by themselves and with a team
• Ability to excel within a team environment
• Self-motivated attitude
