The role on offer is for a technical analyst providing support for a number of projects running though-out 2021. The successful candidate will be expected to provide support and deliver enhancements from the global XFOS (Fixed Income and Markets Treasury Murex instance) book of work. This will include providing small fixes and enhancements for the global business in addition to providing back up to the roles that already exist within the Murex delivery team.
A working knowledge of money and long term debt markets is required. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate clearly and is able to explain how Murex IT systems’ functionality can be used to meet or streamline business requirements.
The candidate will be part of Markets Treasury IT with a primary focus on the America’s Markets Treasury business. The team the candidate will join is a DevOps aligned team. Each member has exposure to different aspects of an IT delivery team including configuration, development, testing, and incident management.
The role will be required to ensure the delivery of 2021 projects for the Markets Treasury Front Office in the Americas. The role is required to align HSBC’s Markets Treasury business to industry standard approaches in long term debt and equity markets.
The role is needed to deliver enhancements to front office reporting and trade workflows to allow better management and insight into the current performance of the Markets Treasury business.
Liaising with internal support and development teams to ensure the business needs are met and prioritised in the correct manner. The person will ensure that the business expectation is fully met by IT. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring enhancements are delivered in-line with system capability
They will gain the trust and have a good relationship with the front office and business support functions across and work as a functional specialist in Toronto for the Markets Treasury business.
The candidate will be able to work within the HSBC structure, including but not limited to: * Internal technologies used for change and incident management
- Production data and ensuring sensitive information is properly classified
- Windows server technologies
- Working with the Business, IT development and support teams to ensure successful prioritisation of competing business and technical requirements
- Manage production incidents through IBM RTC and internal HSBC technologies
- Building a detailed knowledge of HSBC system flows surrounding Murex
- Implementing enhancements and recommendations for the XFOS instance of Murex
- Developing colleagues’ understanding of the Murex platform and its capabilities.
- On boarding and improving DevOps capability by identifying automation opportunities and enabling cross training within the team
- Atlassian tool suite including JIRA and confluence
Requirements:
Clear communication and previous experience working with a front office business is a must, in addition to the below:
- Excellent proven knowledge of P&L troubleshooting risk, pricing and market data issues.
- Experience configuring curves, generators and indices.
- Experience of gathering business requirements and seeing them through to release.
- Extensive all round Murex experience.
- FLEX knowledge
- Experience in MXML Exchange, interfaces, trade Entry, trade Workflow, pre and post trade rules.
- Experience in the construction and performance of dynamic databases for reporting purposes. Detailed knowledge of the Murex reporting framework
- Experience working with quantitative analysts.
- Understanding of upstreamdownstream trade processing.
- Good experience with Unix and shell scripting.
- Navigating and understanding a Sybase instance of a Murex DB.
