Hiring Unit:
Opera McGill, Schulich School of Music

Position Summary:

  • Coordination of Weekly Colloquiums (limited in the Winter semester due to production rehearsals and scheduled per Dir of Opera Studies decision.)
  • Collecting all information needed from the Opera McGill casts, production team members, and faculty to communicate and be the liaison with the production office (C&P) program designers for their Cendrillon and Semele programs.
  • Coordinating any special masterclasses with guest stage director, David Lefkowich, and Opera McGill students.
  • Coordinating all English diction coachings with the Semele cast and Elizabeth Koch
  • Creating a one-page information sheet regarding Opera McGill’s 24-25 season repertoire, announcing special guests, and bullet points regarding Opera McGill class content for the January 25 – 28, 2024 prospective graduate auditions in WOS.
  • Liaison between Anne Kostalas, videographer, and Opera McGill production teams and students – especially with the stage managers of Cendrillon and Semele – during her video shoots.
  • Disseminating information via email that may be pertinent to students and/or faculty regarding Opera McGill activities, masterclasses, rehearsals and/or performances.
  • Liaison between Schulich School of Music box office and the Opera McGill production team members and cast regarding comp tickets for Cendrillon and Semele.
  • Preparation for the fall 2024 Opera McGill season auditions: communicating dates, WOS, and disseminating information to both current and incoming students via email as well as voice area members.
  • Oversight for the Wirth Opera Studio bookings in order to better coordinate opera activities and avoid outside conflicts with the Building Director’s Office.
  • Additional Administration duties may be requested by Stephen Hargreaves, director of opera studies, to be mutually agreed upon.

Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience

Hourly Salary: (AMUSE C) $32.50

Estimated Number of Work Hours per Week: 6 (Part time)
