Role:

The Operations Manager effectively plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all manufacturing operations and warehouse, including the safety, production, quality, and financial performance of the plant.
• Provide leadership, direction, coaching and development to supervisors and their teams.
• This position will be responsible for establishing and delivering in plant metrics / measures and operating objectives for the plant.
• Maintain cooperative and productive relationships with all internal customers to include strong cross functional communication linkages.
• Directs operations to ensure cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality and performance standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain production tracking and quality control systems.
• Track, monitor, control and reduce shrink as per company targets – i.e., production wastage, by-product maximization yields.
• Track and monitor plant area downtime and recommend initiatives to reduce / eliminate.
• Support plant capital expenditure requirements and make recommendations based on business needs.
• Effectively manage expenses; review actuals vs. budgets on a weekly basis and take corrective action as required.
• Plans overall plant operations for best possible utilization of equipment and headcount with the objective of attaining optimum operating efficiencies.
• Drive the plant to continuously improve its processes and procedures by fostering and operating in a continuous improvement environment.
• Must be hands on leader with strong bent to on floor presence who is comfortable in the details of a complex and demanding position.
• Set and monitor productivity standards.
• Work with Supervisors to set and implement policies and goals.
