The Role:

The Operations Supervisor acts as direct support to the Director of Operations, and General Manager as needed. Working predominantly on the floor during show times, this role is the main point of contact for Event Staff (Box office, Concierge, Coat Check, Ushers, Scanners). The Operations Supervisor provides support to the Director of Operations in creating and implementing department operating and strategic plans for driving continuous improvements throughout the venue leading up to, and during, show time.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements the MIDWAY vision for the venue and cascade to Event Staff team members.
  • Operates as main point of contact for Event Staff. Escalate issues to Director of Operations as needed.
  • Manages staff onboarding and training schedules (alongside Office Manager, in conjunction with HR)
  • Supervises Event Staff throughout show times. Coach, correct, and mentor staff as needed. Administer verbal warnings and write ups as needed. Watch for staffing inefficiencies and overall staff performance.
  • Executes Event Staff Schedules. Managing availabilities, time off requests and shift changes. Ensuring adequate coverage in key venue areas
  • Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
  • Ensures department-specific supply levels are met as needed.
  • Merch settlement process. Signs off on settlements and count outs. Sends settlement reports and cash collected to Finance and Management
  • Advances merch in conjunction with the Director of Operations
  • Performs routine furniture inspections, arranges, and monitor repairs as needed with relevant vendors.
  • Solves for guest resolutions relating to ticketing, general complaints, staff complaints or seating resolutions. Escalate guest issues when needed.
  • Executes Security credential process for the venue.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy
  • A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and carrying 50 lbs.+ and occasional sitting.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
