Our expectations
The Operator is the only person in the IT department to perform these duties. The incumbent is therefore the eyes and arms of the remote support teams. As a result, this position requires complete autonomy and regular attendance.
Your role
Understand and monitor the various production lines during shifts (evenings, nights, and weekends)
Monitor the lines with the APPWORX job scheduler and the AS/400 scheduler:
o Take action according to documents and procedures during production line incidents
o Open tickets and respond to support calls
Keep the Senior Operator and Department Manager informed of everything that goes on in production during shifts
Perform go-lives as requested
Draft the shift report
Support the warehouse team during evening and night shifts:
o Provide deskside support (e.g., printers, screens)
o Provide telecommunications support (e.g., reset switch, AP in the warehouse)
Perform new tasks for projects taking place during the various shifts (e.g., store MMS migration, go-live)
Track backups, management of the tape library, and tape input/output with the supplier
Perform sanity tests during maintenance and as requested
Open the telephone bridge during major crashes/maintenance outside office hours
Monitor the APPWORX preproduction line for projects, as requested
Ensure that logs are kept when problems arise on certain servers as requested
- Take charge of the NOC/OCC on weekends, evening and night based on shift.
o Monitor IT and telecommunications hardware
o Monitor applications
o Open tickets and monitor procedures (Knowledge Base) for repairing breakdowns.
Job Requirements
The qualifications we are looking for
College degree or equivalent
At least three years of experience as an IT operator
Ability to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights, and weekends)
ITIL® Foundation v3 certification (an asset)
Experience monitoring schedulers and conducting surveillance.
Experience with Network, Cisco certification (an asset)
Experience with AS/400 systems (an asset)
Experience with one of the following tools or equivalent: ServiceNow, APPWORX, Solarwind, Splunk
Verbal and written bilingualism (French and English)
Ability to easily adapt to change
Leadership, thoroughness, and discipline
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to plan, organize work, and manage priorities
Good decision-making skills and accountability
Ability to work as part of a team (required)
Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
