Job description: Foxglove Farm is a one hundred and twenty-acre organic farm on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada. The farm is one of the original homesteads on the island, surrounded by hundreds of acres of protected forest and agricultural fields, bordering Maxwell Lake.

We produce strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, asparagus, melons, ginger, greens, roots, a wide range of annual Mediterranean vegetables, as well as orchards of diverse varieties of plum, apple, pear, quince, persimmon, fig, chestnut, and cherry. We also manage a small flock of laying hens, pastured pigs, and extensive fields of grains, legumes, and hay and pasture.

We have been farming organically for 44 years and we bring a wealth of creativity, experience, and innovation to the work we do. Through our farms, books, and mentorships we have been influential leaders in the sustainable agriculture movement both in Canada and in the US where we farmed previously.

We are seeking a strong individual who has experience and passion for working at fast paced/high energy weekly farmers markets and who can provide support with harvests, post harvest processing of fruits and vegetables, and other farm tasks as needed. Ideal applicants would have 2-3 years fulltime experience in production organic farming, be friendly, outgoing, and engaging with the public, and in excellent physical condition.
