ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
As part of the Organizational Change & Engagement team at Ontario Northland, the OCM Specialist will focus on the people side of change. Dedicated to uncovering opportunities, designing, and delivering impactful change solutions across the organization, the OCM Specialist will support the integration of new systems, processes and technology as well as on-going business as usual change efforts and initiatives across the organization using proven change management strategies, tools and templates.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply a structured change management approach and methodology for the people side of change
- Develop change management strategies to increase awareness and details of the change and the groups being impacted by the change
- Manages multiple change management workstreams and timelines across multiple projects
- Assess the potential impact of change in the people, processes and technology areas of the organization
- Identify potential people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns
- Conduct readiness assessment, evaluate results and present findings in logical, and easy-to-understand format
- Support and execute OCM strategy and subsequent plans (training and communication plans) for corporate initiatives
- Provide internal change management training and awareness activities
- Provide support to project teams in integrating change management activities into project plans
- Define and measure success metrics; monitor project-based change progress
- Lead the analysis, design and implementation of programs for change management, including leadership alignment, organizational readiness, business processes and training deliverables
- Coach stakeholders to effectively increase their ability to manage change within their areas
- Evaluate insight from broad-based survey data and communication feedback loops to assess organizational willingness and ability to adopt to change
- Stay current on latest industry technologies, trends and communication strategies
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years exposure to programs involving broad business process and technology transformation, playing a key change management role supporting engagement, communications, and training
- Post-secondary educational background related to internal and external communications, adult learning and development, organizational design principles, or people-focused equivalent
- Solid understanding of change process and how people experience organizational change
- Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of a project lifecycle
- Exceptional communication skills – both written and oral
- Experience managing training logistics such as invitations, scheduling, evaluation, and material distribution, ideally including exposure to a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Experience with digital communications platforms and technologies (Survey Monkey, Adobe Captivate, Canva, Menti digital authoring tools,)
- Considered expert user of PowerPoint, Excel, Word – especially in the context of designing end-user training and communications materials, business reports, data manipulation etc.
- Prosci Change Management Certification considered an asset
