Responsibilities: * Assists the Operator/Custodian to maintain Parks and Recreation facilities, performing duties such as, but not inclusive of:
- Maintains cleanliness of overall facilities
- clean and disinfects washrooms, change rooms
- collects garbage in and around facility
- cleans floors, walls, stairs, windows, etc. throughout the building
- refill soap and toilet paper dispensers
- set up take down of tables and chairs in hall
- opens / closes and secures building
- Uses cleaning products as instructed and trained
- Works with minimal supervision
- Ability to deal with the public (handle complaints, inquiries, accept deliveries) in a pleasant and courteous manner
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
Essential
- Minimum Grade 10 education,
- Comfortable working alone with minimal supervision,
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills,
- Perform duties inside and outside in all weather conditions,
- Ability to work around hazardous cleaning chemicals while performing custodial duties.
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals
- This position requires standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods of time
- Must be available to work early morning and late evening hours, including weekend shifts
- Hours of work will not exceed forty-eight (48) hours in a two week period in accordance with the C.U.P.E., Local 1146 – Inside Part-time Unit collective agreement.
