Description:
Patient Food Services Supervisor reports to the manager, Patient Food Services and is responsible for maintaining patient food service operations at the site level. This position provides direction to front line workers and ensures the patients and residents receive the meals required to promote good health. As a key member of the Nutrition and Food Services Team, you are responsible for leading and mentoring staff, Completion of human resources activities, managed food, supply and labor expenses to achieve financial targets, Ensures safe work practice and conditions, participates in the development and implementation of menus that are customized to meet local customer profiles, cost factors, labor productivity targets and standard set by NFS, Promotes quality improvement and staff engagement in operational problem solving , Key contact to site administration and patient care for matters relations to Patient Food Services , Site compliance to guidelines, standards and regulatory directives Patient Food Supervisors may act a key contact to site administration and patient care for matters relating to Patient Food Services. This position routinely interacts with dieticians, health care staff, patients and their families. The supervisor position is an introduction to the operations management stream and could lead to other opportunities within Nutrition and Food Services Management.

Required Qualifications:
Post Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Nutrition and or Food Service Management. Combination of relevant education and experience will be considered. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Effective communication and organization skills. Be client focused and committed to providing quality services. Ability to work in a unionized environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with computer applications such as email, Word, Excel, familiarity with CBORD is an asset.
