About the opportunity

To support our growth, Swyftx is searching for a passionate and self-driven Payroll Officer who prides themself on their attention to detail and their ability to meet deadlines. This will be a standalone role reporting to our Global Head of People and Culture, however you will also partner closely with and be supported by our Finance and People and Culture teams.

To be successful in this role, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will bring strong 360 payroll services, including experience with new hire onboarding processes, timesheets, award interpretation and payroll administration. Please note that this is a part-time opportunity with potential for the role to go full-time.

What you’ll do

• Timely and accurate processing of fortnightly pay run for approx. 140 employees (and growing!), including payments for overseas team members
• Complete pre payroll process checks, including time sheet correction and validation
• Validation of LSL calculations
• Responsible for superannuation and payroll tax calculations
• Calculation of leave accruals, penalty rate application, remuneration adjustments and terminations
• Understanding and interpreting the award relevant to the organisation
• Provide regular and ad-hoc payroll reports to management, ensuring monthly audit reporting is created and managed
• Identify opportunities for improvement and automation to create efficient processes and best practices

About you

• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll-related legislation and employment agreements
• Excellent payroll systems experience in Xero and Intermediate Excel experience
• High level of organisational skills with the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
• Detail obsessed and driven, you promote a culture of best practice payroll
• Excellent communication, time management and relationship management skills
• The ability to work proactively and autonomously
• Experience implementing payroll systems would be advantageous
