PEDIATRIC NEPHROLOGIST

The UBC Department of Pediatrics and BCCH are seeking a pediatric nephrologist who will provide clinical care, education and participate in the research activities of the division. The current need is for individuals with expertise and interest in general nephrology, chronic kidney disease, and kidney transplantation, and includes but is not restricted to, candidates with capacity for a senior administrative leadership role including Division Head.

The Division is a provincial resource serving a total population base of 4.2 million and provides a broad range of consultative services and inpatient care and outreach clinics. The Division currently has five full-time and two part time faculty members. The Division is recognized for its excellence in clinical care and education and for its clinical and translational research programs and clinical care pathway development. Current faculty bring research expertise related to congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary track, glomerular diseases, acute kidney injury, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis and transplantation. The Division has a Royal College accredited subspecialty training program.

As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated a commitment to pediatric nephrology with excellence in providing a high quality clinical care, teaching and scholarly work. Candidates with an interest in pursuing an administrative leadership role such as Division Head are encouraged to apply. Salary and UBC Clinical Faculty appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a specialist license to practice medicine in British Columbia as well as have sub-specialty training in pediatric nephrology and be a Fellow or be eligible for Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
