Job description: Through Redux Nutrition Ltd., a subsidiary of West Coast Reduction Ltd., we recycle a variety of inedible pre-consumer food materials including bakery by-products and packaged organic goods. Based at our Chilliwack plant operations, Manager of Redux Nutrition Ltd. is a key leadership position responsible for active business development & sales, in addition to overseeing work activities of a 12 person team including: Production Process Operators, Class 1 Drivers, Receivers, Administration and other plant employees. Other objectives include strategic planning, preparing and presenting business presentations and supporting the continued growth of the division. Reporting to the Director of Redux Services, the role is crucial in ensuring the overall success of the Chilliwack plant and services of the division.
This is a permanent role based at our Chilliwack plant location (South Sumas). An attractive compensation package is offered including comprehensive extended health benefits, access to a company vehicle + other perks.
Accountabilities
- Sales, Business Development & Account Management – identify and target new business opportunities; establish sales objectives including forecasting quotas or projected sales; grow sales volume by analyzing changing trends; prepare status reports against established KPIs
- Production Operations – develop and maintain effective production planning schedule which tracks inbound raw materials, sales transactions, production planning and transportation scheduling; oversee maintenance planning and monitor activities for PMs of plant equipment; develop SOPs and standard KPIs while ensuring compliance; plan and monitor financials related to workforce labour, overtime and other costs
- People Management & Human Resources – active management of direct reports; manage payroll time-keeping records and vacation approvals; oversee divisional recruitment and training activities; provide strong leadership to plant employees to maintain productivity; build a strong safety culture at the plant
Desired Qualifications
- 5 years of leadership role experience managing a production team or industrial processing plant, combined with demonstrated experience in sales or business development
- Strong communication skills required for external sales, business case development or presentations, and customer account management
- Demonstrated organization and time management, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Powerpoint required; previous experience using ERP systems is beneficial (JD Edwards or Dynamics365)
- Ability to travel periodically to customer locations and other company divisions
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field is preferred
- Formal training in Animal Nutrition, Agriculture of Food Sciences considered a strong asset
- Certified Lean Six Sigma training is advantageous
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis is required in addition to being comfortable with a manufacturing environment consisting of exposure to raw materials, odours and cold weather
