As our organization grows, we are looking for a Precision Ag Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in the success of our organization and will be looked upon to be a leader in Agronomy. Our Precision Agriculture Specialist will provide support and technical assistance to growers using the latest technologies. They implement plans for our clients using mapping, tools and technical solutions to enhance the growing cycle. Responsibilities:Maintain and build trustworthy relationships with growersStrong focus on variable rate technology including implementing action plans for variable rate application of products and solutionsUse of satellite imagery, GPS, drones and application equipmentAccountable for all aspects of data management for each clientExecution of data using software technology for each client Providing training for clients in precision agriculture technologies and data managementResponsible for mapping fields, ground truthing soil zones and performing soil sampling duties in fieldZone mapping analysis including seeding rates, fertility recommendations and pest and disease identificationProviding agronomic services in field using scouting apps and softwareUtilize and understand a variety of agriculture equipment from all major manufacturesOther duties assigned Position RequirementsThe ability to communicate with a variety of people with positive attitude and understandingThorough knowledge of the agriculture industryExcellent time management strengthsAnalytical, detailed and systematic workDemonstrable experience with data managementHonest and transparent interpersonal valuesDemonstrated ability to build relationships and networksTravel within the province during peak times of growing season Education/ExperienceDegree in Agriculture, P.Ag, or a Certified Crop Advisor Designation with 5-7 years of agriculture experienceSIA Membership an assetGIS training/educationValid class 5 driver’s license Please submit your application directly to the hiring manager by clicking on apply to this position.Only those chosen for an interview will be contacted.
