Job Description :

Reporting directly to the Copper Industrial Assets Head of Assurance, this role will add value and improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. The candidate will also consult and support management at all levels in their risk management process. The candidate will be operating in a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, which encourages innovation and knowledge sharing.

More Specifically, you will be tasked with:

  • Performing the complete assurance cycle, including control testing on effectiveness, reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect assurance results and document process.
  • Act as an objective source of independent assurance to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement.
  • Leading and delivering risk-based assurance and advisory engagements.
  • Maintain open communication with management and various committees.
  • Document processes and prepare assurance findings memorandum.
  • Document and follow up on assurance findings raised during relevant reviews.
  • Understand current and emerging risks and use this knowledge to provide relevant insights.
  • Undertake strategically relevant projects, ad hoc investigations and any other reviews as required.
  • Undertake risk-based assurance planning activities for relevant regions incorporating second-line and third-party assurance providers.
  • Prepare and participate in the development of relevant assurance reports for various assurance committees.
  • Monitor execution of asset and regional risk and assurance committees.
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Certification in audit (CIA, CISA, CA) is required.
  • At least five (5) years of assurance experience in the mining industry.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in an assurance role.
  • Prior experience within major international businesses will be looked upon favourably.
  • Organisational and people skills.
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills combined with critical thinking.
  • Self-motivated with high energy and adaptability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadline-driven.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Fluency in English, French (Canadian), written and oral.

Travel requirements: Up to 30% and will be required to travel around the world.
