Job description: Job Summary:

Within the context of a client centred model of care, the Printing Operator is responsible for completing customer requirements and requests for colour and black and white reprographic printing services by utilizing current printing equipment and computer software applications. Performs a variety of layout, and duplicating services including preparing formats, setting up, operating and maintaining image settings. Works as a member of the Printing team to ensure quality standards are met to ensure final products either meet or exceed customer expectations.

What you’ll do

  • Determine output requirements for each request and set up machines, print and check proofs, scan and manipulate documents as required, run job, ensure client specifications are met, and deliver final output.
  • Utilize current digital, and large colour and black and white reprographic equipment and networked computer applications to produce various printing jobs as requested by clients.
  • Set up and operate offset press equipment, perform adjustments as required, clean and lubricate machine parts.
  • Perform a variety of bindery duties such as drilling, collating and stapling materials.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of high-frequency service call areas on specified equipment to maximize customer uptime.
  • Clean reprographic equipment according to vendor specifications and changes supplies.
  • Record meter reads, process production forms and maintain records.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Grade 10 plus three years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
