Your mission

You will be part of the supervising team and report directly to the Production Director. You will supervise a work team on 3x12h shifts. You will monitor your work team’s production in a fast‑paced, ever-changing environment, with a focus on workplace health and safety and continuous improvement.

More specifically:

  • Supervise all employees on your shift
  • Lead, coach and help develop a team of 35 to 45 people, including one team lead, who will support you in your routine tasks
  • Ensure the safety of all production activities and enforce our safety policy
  • Ensure production quality, enforce DANONE specifications, processes and standards, and guarantee quality in everyday operations
  • Lead team meetings and communicate goals in pre-shift briefings, team meetings and daily rounds
  • Understand the priorities for each work shift and interface with support departments to ensure team needs are met
  • Communicate with other shift supervisors to enforce the established processes and ensure management consistency across departments
  • Coordinate production line operations and interface with other departments (Process, Fruit, Flow, Janitorial Services) to ensure on-schedule production, output, quality, cost-effectiveness and safety for both employees and the work environment
  • Implement the company’s vision and engage your team members in maintaining and improving cell performance and efficiency
  • Lead your teams by sharing objectives and results, assessing their performance and developing their skills and self-reliance
  • Work with sector managers to coach and develop all talents
  • Engage and mobilize your teams in building healthy work relationships on your shifts
  • Lead key staff management efforts and enforce the provisions of the collective agreement in force

The ideal applicant has the following qualifications and skills:

  • DEC (college diploma) combined with 5 years of experience OR university undergraduate degree in a relevant field combined with 2 years of experience
  • Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and results
  • Experience working in the food industry (an asset)
  • Experience managing unionized employees (an asset)
  • Transversal leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, mobilization and influencing skills
  • Ability to quickly identify, analyze and solve problems
  • Willingness to adjust your schedule to accommodate emergencies and priorities, in order to support the organization’s operations
