Short Summary

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, Facilities & Engineering, the Project Assistant will support the Facilities & Engineering department. The Project Assistant will support various electrical, mechanical, and construction projects, as well as compile critical departmental documentation. Confidentiality, initiative, tact, maturity and independent judgment are essential to be successful in this position. The Project Coordinator, Facilities & Engineering will have the opportunity to learn about Engineering Management, and their hours worked will contribute to their Professional Engineering Licensure since the Director is licensed. No prior engineering project experience is required. It will all be taught on the job.

Job Description

Administration and Assistance for Facilities & Engineering department
 Support engineering initiatives, which include, but are not limited to, liaising with service providers and contractors, responding to requests for engineering information, and field data collection.
 Communicate with, and process requests from leadership in the Facilities & Engineering department. (Director, Manager, Project Coordinator)
 Provide weekly updates to the Project Coordinator, Facilities & Engineering
 Prepare reports and documentation on behalf of leadership in the Facilities & Engineering department.
Collaborate with other departments to support their Facilities and Engineering requests.
 Adhere to all Company policies and departmental procedures.
 Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 Enrollment in an engineering program. All disciplines will be considered. (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, etc)
 Able to work under pressure with the utmost confidentiality to meet deadines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy workloads.
 Superior organizational skills necessary to manage large volumes of business and opportunities from various sources and to coordinate multiple projects.
 Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and to apply problem-solving skills on a variety of issues.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

Light to infrequently moderate physical effort; Requires handling of light and moderate weight objects including office equipment and other office supplies.

Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy work loads.
