Role & Responsibilities:

  • Update, monitor and accurately report on the Integrated Schedule, including all associated detailed schedules, variance to plan, root causes and remedial actions.
  • Progress tracking and trending by application of Earned Value principles.
  • Assessing opportunities to optimize either or both the schedule and the estimate.
  • Early identification of risks to critical path, variance, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Thorough review of options to remedy cause and / or recover.
  • Initiate formal trend/change process where applicable.
  • Forecast (trending) impact and adjust schedule accordingly based on confidence in remedial and recovery actions.
  • Develop and maintain up to date Level 3 project schedule for identification of critical path, key milestones, critical interfaces and handover points.
  • Integrate schedules from different contractors, service providers and vendors to ensure up to date view of likely completion date.
  • progress in the field and calculate % progress/ earned value.
  • Ensure project risk is reflected in the schedule and completion date.
  • Ensure that the correct cost allocation methodology and account set-up is used.
  • Open expense items on Our Investments, and ensure alignment between Our Investments, SAP, and Power BI
  • Maintain up to date view of project budget and forecast monthly cashflow.
  • Proactively manage and escalate issues to ensure project remains on budget.
  • Keep record of trends and approved changes and manage contingency drawdown.
  • Verify equipment/ material delivery or engineering/ construction progress in the field against the agreed payment milestones before processing invoices.
  • Compare actual expenditures against budget and latest project plan, and proactively manage/ escalate issue to ensure project remains on budget.
  • Provide accurate cost status, schedule, and progress information for the project monthly report.
  • Ensure full alignment between project and finance view on project cost (alignment between SAP, Our Investments and Power BI).
  • Highlight associated risk areas to the director project controls.
  • Provide direct support to Director Project Controls.
  • Align work packages associated with the project to schedule and cost.
  • Assist in tendering process to provide adequate detail and ensure contracts / Purchase.
  • Orders are executed as per the plan within the schedule and progressed in support of project/study execution.
  • Support and coordinate the development of Budget set-up / monthly forecasts for Project / study with Finance teams.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Must be someone onsite with a strong scheduling background.
  • Understanding of project management principles
  • Technical knowledge about the project to understand the key drivers and potential changes to project cost and schedule.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Deep understanding of cost control techniques (incl. actuals, commitments, accruals, forecasts).
  • In-depth knowledge of technical expertise of consolidation techniques, processes, and tools
  • Deep understanding of planning/ scheduling processes (incl. logic, and sequencing activities), critical path analysis, resource loading
  • Understanding of detailed construction planning, last planner methodology
