Job description: Our busy and growing commercial construction client is looking for a talented project coordinator for their Edmonton team. Responsibilities:
- Perform general administrative and recordkeeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation
- Preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes, tracking of project milestones, maintenance of files, logs, drawings and specifications
- Support the (sub) contract management process: tender and award work or material supply; review and process invoices and progress claims, and assistance with the review of documents and inquiries
- Assist with the change order process by securing pricing from the vendor/subcontractor, reviewing and inputting the data and submitting the change request to the owner/consultant for approval
- Facilitate the tracking of project milestones and financial deadlines; assist with the creation of the project schedule; input and update schedule throughout the project and review with project manager/superintendent
- Coordinate the request for information (RFI) process, ensure RFIs are distributed to affected trades and maintain RFI logs and binders
- Performing quantity take-offs
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed
- Prepare purchase requisitions for approval and assist with procurement of materials and equipment
- Other related duties as required
Requirements:
- Completion of post-secondary education in related discipline
- 2+ years previous work experience with commercial construction projects
- Strong software skills; MS Office and scheduling software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident interacting with key contacts
- Knowledge of general construction processes, project set up, subcontract management, change orders, RFIs (request for information), lien holdbacks, closeout
- Capable of presenting information clearly in an appropriate manner
- Able to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a team
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Good driving record required
