Job description: Our busy and growing commercial construction client is looking for a talented project coordinator for their Edmonton team. Responsibilities:

  • Perform general administrative and recordkeeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation
  • Preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes, tracking of project milestones, maintenance of files, logs, drawings and specifications
  • Support the (sub) contract management process: tender and award work or material supply; review and process invoices and progress claims, and assistance with the review of documents and inquiries
  • Assist with the change order process by securing pricing from the vendor/subcontractor, reviewing and inputting the data and submitting the change request to the owner/consultant for approval
  • Facilitate the tracking of project milestones and financial deadlines; assist with the creation of the project schedule; input and update schedule throughout the project and review with project manager/superintendent
  • Coordinate the request for information (RFI) process, ensure RFIs are distributed to affected trades and maintain RFI logs and binders
  • Performing quantity take-offs
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for approval and assist with procurement of materials and equipment
  • Other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in related discipline
  • 2+ years previous work experience with commercial construction projects
  • Strong software skills; MS Office and scheduling software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident interacting with key contacts
  • Knowledge of general construction processes, project set up, subcontract management, change orders, RFIs (request for information), lien holdbacks, closeout
  • Capable of presenting information clearly in an appropriate manner
  • Able to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a team
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Good driving record required
