ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client, a subcontractor with 40+ years experience in the market specializing in tiling from high end single family residential homes to multi-family residential and commercial projects.

Working with some of Vancouver’s largest developers and general contractors expect to work on projects for the likes of Ellis Don, PCL & Ledcor with projects varying between $200k – $6m.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

If you are an experienced Estimator either with a Subcontractor, General Contractor or Developer and keen to move into a managerial position along with some role flexibility this could be a great chance to do just that. Overseeing 2 Estimator while leading the team to success, while having the opportunity to take on a Project Manager duties and see projects right through from start to finish, will certainly add some extra variety to your day.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As Senior Estimator you will be working closely with the Project Managers, on field staff while reporting to the Operations Manager. Strong construction knowledge is essential given you will be overseeing the team and being the main mentor within the company.

Quick turn-around times are essential due to strict deadlines and market competition, as a team you will be expected to turn quotes around within half a day to 7 days given the sizes of the projects.

If you are familiar with AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Planswift that is also considered a strong asset!

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing 2 estimators
• Quantity take-offs
• Reviewing suppliers and trades
• Negotiating material and labor costs
• Advising on proposal procedures
• Attending client meetings
• Handling change orders

THE REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years experience as an Estimator
• Construction related education

COMPENSATION

• $60,000 – $70,000 per annum
• 3 weeks vacation
• Extended medical and dental coverage
• Training Reimbursement
