We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Officer with specific experience in Construction Sites for a role in Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

• Reads, understands, and follows Health and Safety Program, Policies and Procedures.

• Ensures health and safety is considered in the performance of all activities.

• Participation in daily H&S Meetings.

• Ensure Health and Safety compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

• In charge of the compilation, updating and distribution of health and safety related documentation as required on site.

• Manage the daily health and safety activities related to administration and field work.

• Assist in developing and delivering required training programs as may be required.

• Conduct Health and Safety orientation of new employees; update and train existing employees as required.

• Complete regular site inspections and audits.

• Immediately report all workplace injuries.

• Participate in injury investigation, reporting and follow-up.

• Participate in incident investigations in a timely manner.

• Ensure project start-up activities are completed.

• Maintaining and updating third party compliance monitoring databases.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in a related discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

• NCSO (National construction Safety officer) Certification an asset

• Two (2) years relevant experience in Health & Safety

• Valid Driver License

• An understanding of Federal and provincial regulations and other regulatory authorities.

• Comprehensive construction experience required

• Certificate of Recognition (COR) Auditor Certification

• CHSO (Construction Health and Safety Officer)

• First Aid Trained and Certified

• Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification Training preferred

• Ability to use Site Docs Safety Management Software is an Asset

• Valid Construction Certifications: WAH, Confined Space, Asbestos Awareness, AWP License, Traffic Control, Propane Certificate, and etc.

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
